Sarah Gowdy (She/Her) is a dance artist and educator living in Jacksonville, FL. While growing up in Houston, TX, Sarah developed her passion for dance at the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She then honed her craft at George Mason University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2021. While in school, Sarah had the opportunity to perform dance works by Lar Lubovitch, Hope Boykin, Rafael Bonachela, Nacho Duato, Susan Shields, and Christopher d’Amboise. Sarah has performed with Emily Cargill and Dancers and participated in Body Traffic’s Summer 2022 intensive in Los Angeles. Her choreography has been shown as a part of the Terre Dance Colective’s Layers V.3 festival. As a member of JDT Sarah has performed throughout the country in choreographic works by Rebecca R. Levy, Bliss Kohlmyer, Roberto Forleo, and others. When Sarah is not dancing, you can find her enjoying a hot cup of coffee, playing her guitar (lucas), going for a run, roller skating or enjoying the company of her friends.
