Jessica Plonka

Jessica Plonka is a Jacksonville, Florida native who grew up training as a competitive dancer throughout the region. She studied at several local studios, including No Limits, Studio K, and Debbie’s Dance Company, where she trained under the direction of Debra Ford, Jennifer Turbyfill, Samantha Reyes, and Kellie Landon. During her competitive years, Jessica earned numerous regional and national titles.

Jessica is a 2020 graduate of James Madison University, where she received both a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While at JMU, she performed as a member of the Virginia Repertory Dance Company, appearing in works by Kyle Abraham, DanceWorks Chicago, Rubén Graciani, Matt Pardo, and Scott Putman.

Following graduation, Jessica returned to Jacksonville and joined Emily Cargill and Dancers as a company member for one season. In 2021, she became a company member with Jacksonville Dance Theatre, where she has performed works by Louis Kavouras, Susan Dodge, Bliss Kohlmyer, Roberto Forleo, Eboné Amos, and James Morrow.

In addition to her performance career, Jessica is an active instructor and choreographer in the Jacksonville area. She currently serves on faculty at LaVilla School of the Arts and Debbie’s Dance Company, where her choreography has earned both regional and national recognition within the competitive dance circuit.

Jacksonville Dance Theatre
