Season 13 Audition Notice
Jacksonville Dance Theatre is seeking experienced contemporary modern dancers of any gender to join our company in Season 13 for professional part-time contracts starting September 1, 2024 and ending June 15, 2025.
Requirements:
- Age: 21-34
- Education: extensive and rigorous dance training
- Experience: Two or more years of professional dance experience (if you are applying as a College senior please indicate this)
- Technique: Strong contemporary/modern and ballet technique with experience in modern partnering, dance improvisation forms and/or contact improvisation.
- References: Two or more professional or academic references
Preferred:
- BFA or BA in dance
- Experience with dance outreach and/or education
Pay:
- Class and rehearsal pay starts at $15/hour for company dancers, and $10/hour for apprentice positions
- Flat rate for outreach starts at $50
- Flat rate for performances starts at $20
- Daily touring per diem starts at $25/day
Schedule:
- Rehearsal schedule is M/W/F 9am-noon.
- Shows and touring throughout the season (schedule provided upon hire)
- Federal/local holidays, Winter, Spring and Summer hiatus time-off

We highly recommend candidates familiarize themselves with our work by attending a performance prior to auditioning. The next show will be on May 11, 2024 at the Florida Theatre.

Date: Friday May 31, 2024
Time: 9:30am-12:00pm (sign-in opens at 9am)
Location: The Florida Ballet – 10131 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32225
Audition will consist of a short class and phrase work. Dancers may be asked to improvise and/or engage in a short interview.
