Trainee Audition Notice – Season 14
Jacksonville Dance Theatre is seeking dedicated contemporary modern dancers of any gender to join the company as trainees for our upcoming Season 14, running from August 15, 2025, to June 1, 2026. Trainee positions are unpaid and designed for emerging artists seeking professional experience in a repertory dance company environment.
The application deadline is July 15, 2025.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong technical foundation in contemporary modern dance and ballet
- Experience or interest in modern partnering, improvisation, and/or contact improvisation
- Aged 19–25
- Dance degree preferred but not required
- Two professional references
- Dedication, professionalism, and a deep desire to grow
The Experience Includes:
- Rehearsals three times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri, 9AM–12PM)
- Participation in outreach and community events
- Consideration for understudy and performance opportunities
- Exposure to a repertory of works ranging from modern dance classics to bold, contemporary choreography
Audition Details:
Date: July 28–August 1, 2025 (Mon–Fri)
Time: 2:00–4:00PM daily
Location: Florida State College at Jacksonville
Full attendance required for consideration
Free to audition (no walk-ins permitted)
